Cause
Error 30h normally occurs when there’s miscommunication between one or more electrical components and the controller. It could also indicate one of the connected components has become faulty. Follow the below steps to perform connector checks to determine where the miscommunication or defect originates to help resolve the error on your Rize Bike.

Troubleshooting Steps

Locate and disconnect the following wires in front of your bike while the bike is powered on. After disconnecting each component, check the LCD display to see if Error 30h has been resolved. Important: Do NOT reconnect the components until instructed. Follow the wires connecting the brake inhibitors to the main wire and disconnect the wires ONLY (red internal, 2 pins), leaving them still installed on the handlebars. Follow the wire connecting the throttle to the main wire and disconnect it (orange internal, 3 pins). Follow the wire connecting the button pad to the main wire and disconnect it (blue internal, 4 pins). Check all connectors to see if any of the pins are damaged, bent, out of position, or corroded. If you see any scratches on any of the female connectors, chances are the pins on their male counterparts are bent, out of place, or damaged. If at any point the Error 30h message disappears from the LCD display, take note of the last disconnected component and proceed to step 3.

Damaged pins or wires. If the inside of any connector appears damaged, take a photo and send it to support@rizebikes.com - our warranty team will provide further assistance. If all connectors and pins look normal, continue to the next step.

Reconnect all connectors. If there is no visible damage to the wires and pins, line up the internal notch and pins and connect them without twisting. If any pins appear to be only slightly out of position, carefully adjust them to their original positions before reconnecting the connectors. Please take your time lining up the pins, as they can become damaged while reconnecting.

Check if the error persists. If the error persists and you still do not know which component is causing the issue, continue to the next step. If the error persists and you know which component is causing the issue, please email support@rizebikes.com a continuous video, with no cuts or edits, of the steps you performed in Steps 1 through 3 and a warranty specialist will provide further assistance. If the error has been resolved, you can once again enjoy your Rize Bike!

Locate the controller and disconnect the main wire from the controller. Check the connector to see if any of the pins are damaged, bent, out of position, or corroded. If you see any scratches on the female connector, chances are at least one of the pins on the male connector is bent, damaged, or out of position. If the inside of any connector appears damaged, take a photo and send it to support@rizebikes.com - our warranty team will provide further assistance. If all connectors look normal, reconnect them per Step 3. If the error persists, continue to the next step. If the error has been resolved, you can once again enjoy your Rize Bike!

If you see any scratches on the female connector, chances are at least one of the pins on the male connector is bent, damaged, or out of position. If the inside of any connector appears damaged, take a photo and send it to support@rizebikes.com - our warranty team will provide further assistance. If all connectors look normal, reconnect them per Step 3. If the error persists, continue to the next step. If the error has been resolved, you can once again enjoy your Rize Bike!

Locate and disconnect the pedal-assist sensor. Check the connector to see if any of the pins are damaged, bent, out of position, or corroded. If you see any scratches on the female connector, chances are at least one of the pins on the male connector is bent, damaged, or out of position. If the inside of any connector appears damaged, take a photo and send it to support@rizebikes.com - our warranty team will provide further assistance. If all connectors look normal, reconnect them per Step 3. If the error persists, continue to the next step. If the error has been resolved, you can once again enjoy your Rize Bike!

Locate and disconnect the motor. Check the LCD display for any changes to the error code. If the error code momentarily changes to Error 24h but reverts back to Error 30h after a few seconds, the problem is not with the motor. Please reconnect it per Step 3 and move on to Step 10. If the error code changes to Error 24h and does not revert to Error 30h, it could mean the motor was not connected properly. Reconnect the motor per Step 3 and check if the error has resolved on the LCD display. If Error 30h comes back on the LCD display after reconnecting the motor, continue to the next step. If the error has been resolved, you can once again enjoy your Rize Bike!

Submit video evidence that the error is being caused by the motor. In one continuous video with no edits or cuts, include ALL of the following in order:

If the error is still not resolved at this point of the troubleshooting guide, it means the LCD display, the main wire, or the controller may be faulty, and there is no easy way to determine which.
