Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1: Test the Charger
-
Plug the charger into the battery
-
- If the charger light turns red and the fan turns on, the battery is charging normally and the input fuse is intact.
-
If the charger light turns green, it could mean:
-
- The battery is already fully charged.
- The input fuse is likely damaged.
- The charger is defective.

-
Step 2: Check the Battery's Output Voltage
Follow the instructions in the video embedded below to check the battery's output voltage:
Although your battery may not look the same as the battery in the video, the concept is very similar. If the output voltage reads 0 volts or is much lower than expected, the output fuse or the entire battery may need to be replaced. Please Submit a Warranty Claim or Start a Ticket for Assistance, including any pictures and/or videos of the troubleshooting steps you've performed, and an agent will reach out to provide further assistance.
Step 3: Examine the Fuse

- Type B Battery: Accessing the fuses for the Type B battery is a little tricky. Please Start a Ticket for Assistance and one of our agents will be happy to provide assistance.
For the 2021+ models:
Follow the instructions in the video embedded below to check the battery's input fuse:

If you're having difficulty determining whether a fuse is blown, you may hold it against a light source which will allow you to see inside more clearly. If you are still unable to tell whether the fuse is blown, please take a few pictures while holding it against a light source or on top of a white surface and Submit a Warranty Claim or Start a Ticket for Assistance. One of our agents will reach out to provide further assistance.
Step 4: Replace the Fuse
If any fuse is blown, it will need to be replaced.
Depending on the version of the battery you have, you will need either the Standard or the Mini fuse (circled in red in the image below). Some 2020 Type B batteries will require glass tube fuses instead. Please verify which type of fuse you need before replacing them.
For 2020 or earlier models:
- Type A Battery: The input fuse may be replaced with any generic 5A fuse. The output fuse may be replaced with any generic 30A fuse. For output fuse replacement, please Start a Ticket for Assistance.
- Type B Battery: The input fuse may be replaced with any generic 5A fuse. The output fuse may be replaced with any generic 40A fuse. For output fuse replacement, please Start a Ticket for Assistance.
For 2021/2022 models:
- The input fuse may be replaced with any generic 5A fuse. The output fuse is hardwired into the battery, and the entire battery will have to be replaced if it is blown. Please Submit a Warranty Claim or Start a Ticket for Assistance if the output fuse is blown.
Step 5A: Test the Battery Charger (Again)
If you replaced the input fuse, test the charger again. Plug the charger into the battery. If the charger light turns red and the fan comes on, the battery is able to charge properly again.
Step 5B: Check the Battery’s Output Voltage (Again)
If you replaced the output fuse, perform another voltage test on the battery. If you're able to get a reading between 40 and 58 volts, depending on how much power is left in the battery, replacing the fuse has returned the battery to working order.
