The next step in solving or finding the cause of your unresponsive motor is to test your main cable connections and various bike functions.
- Getting started. Remove the battery. Press and hold the power button on the bike's button pad for at least 30 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Locate and disconnect the cables in front of your bike. Locate the cables coming out of the frame above the battery. Unplug the main cable (black internal, 9 pins) and check if any of the pins are damaged, bent, or corroded. Follow the cables that lead up to your handlebar. Disconnect the brake inhibitors (red internal, 2 pins), throttle (orange internal, 3 pins), and LCD display (green internal, 5 pins). Check all connectors to see if any of the pins are damaged, bent, or corroded.
- Damaged pins and/or cables. If the insides of the connectors appear damaged, take photos and submit them to support@rizebikes.com. If the connectors look normal, continue to the next step.
- Reconnect all connectors. If the cables and pins show no visible damage, line up the internal notch and pins and press firmly together without twisting. Please take your time lining up the pins as they can become damaged while reconnecting.
- Check if the motor engages. Attach the battery, turn on the bike, and check if the motor engages. You’ll need to test the three components that engage the motor.
- Throttle
- Pedal assist (Cadence/Torque sensor)
- Walk assist mode (Press and hold the “-” button on the button pad)
If the testing results from Step 5 only include one non-working function between the throttle, pedal-assist, and walk-assist, please Submit a Warranty Claim or Start a Ticket for Assistance to inform us of the issue, including the testing results and any other applicable information.
