In the event that your motor is unresponsive when you attempt to engage it using the throttle, pedal-assist, and/or walk-assist, one or more of the below may be the cause:
- Loose Connection
- Brake inhibitor malfunction
- Throttle malfunction
- Torque/Cadence sensor malfunction
- Controller malfunction
- Motor malfunction
The first step is to check that the motor is connected securely to the controller. The motor's connector can be found about 15 cm (6 Inches) along the cable coming from the rear wheel axle. This is often hidden inside the neoprene slap guard that displays our Rize logo on the right side of your bike.
When checking the motor's connector, disconnect it to confirm there is no damage to the connectors' ports and pins. When reconnecting the connectors, be sure to align the 2 arrows so that they are pointing toward each other and push them together firmly.
If the insides of the connectors appear damaged, take photos and submit them to support@rizebikes.com
