Symptoms
- Pressing down on the throttle does not engage the motor
- Pressing down on the throttle only sometimes engages the motor
- While the throttle is pressed down, the motor does not engage continuously
Possible Causes
- The throttle was damaged or has become defective
- The controller was damaged or has become defective
- The motor was damaged or has become defective
Troubleshooting Steps
- Confirm the Throttle is faulty. First, test whether the Walk-Assist mode engages the motor. If the Walk-Assist mode engages the motor, your Throttle is likely at fault. If the Walk-Assist mode also does not engage the motor, continue to the next step. To activate Walk-Assist mode, press and hold the minus "-" button on the control pad.
- Turn off the Bike.
- Disconnect the Throttle. The connector between the Throttle and the Controller can be found along the cable approximately 25 cm (10") from the Throttle.
- Damaged Pins and/or Cables. Inspect the disconnected connectors and the entire cable. If the insides of the connectors and/or the cable appear to be damaged, take photos and submit them to support@rizebikes.com to start a warranty claim. If the connectors and cable look normal, continue to the next step.
- Reconnect the Throttle. If the cables and pins have no visible damage, line up the internal notch and pins and press directly together without twisting. Please take your time lining up the pins, as they can become damaged while reconnecting. Gently return the cable to where you first found it.
- Check if the Throttle works. Turn on the bike and check if the Throttle works.
If the Throttle is still unresponsive, please contact us by email at support@rizebikes.com with the troubleshooting results and an agent will reach out to provide further assistance.
